LDS FHL LeRoy Beck Depuy's DEPUY FAMILY HISTORY page 23: Calculated birth 03-12-1701 (EW) page 33: Nicholas came to the lower Pocono Mt. area in 1725, followed by brother Benjamin II, Abram, and Susanna DuPuy VanCampen arrived by 1732 about 5 miles up the Delaware on the New Jersey side. He resided in Shawnee, now Monroe County, Pa. where he was one of the first settlers. He belonged to the Ref. Dutch Church. He died while on a visit to Rochester.
FHL #509179 De Puy page 2, entered 12/1993 To Smithfield PA 1725-27. He purchased 3,000 acreas from Indians in Minisink in 1727. House fortified as Fort Depuy 1755. Elder in Church.
Research Notes on Ancestors of John Depue, son of Benjamin Depue by Eva Duke: He came to Minisink about 1725. He was a pioneer settler of Lower Smithfield, PA now Shawnee, PA. HE belonged to the Dutch Reformed Church. Dates differ in the Depuy Family History Book: Nichloas birth date is: 3-12-1701 and he died on a visit to his old home about 1761.
