This indenture made 7th and 8th March 1726 between Lewis Elzey of Overland Parish in County of Strafford and Elizabeth his wife and Hugh French of Parish Washington in Westmoreland County... by deeds of lease and release ., for One pound and Six shillings current money of Virginia and Seven thousand pounds of tobacco to them paid hath sold 400 acres in Parish Overworton and bounding East & North on lands late Sampson Darrels and now in possession of William Cave South on Land of Joseph Waugh and South & West on lands late John Simmons & now in possession of Townshend Dade and ___ Clark which said 400 acres was bequeathed unto the said Elizabeth by the Last Will and Testament of Giles Travis her Father and is mentioned in the said Will to Stafford County, Virginia Deed Book Jbeginning at the Landing run ad so running out round to compleat it ...

Marriage
After the death of Ann (Waugh) Travers, Giles Travers, Gentleman, (16 -1717) married a second wife whose name is unknown to e; she predeceased him leaving two daughters, viz:Ann Travers who married as her first husband William Cave; he died testate in Stafford County in 1742 and she married secondly in 1747 Thomas Dent. Her only child to survive infancy was Elizabeth Cave's successively the wife of Keene Wither (1728-1756), ... Giles Travers, Gentleman, by will bequeathed to his daughter Anne Traver his dwelling plantation on The Landing Run which flows into Potomac Creek a short distance upstream from Belle Plain. Upon this property William Cave erected a tobacco warehouse and Cave's Warehouse became a very well known shipping point. By virtue of his arriage to Cave's only heir, Andrew Edwards held this property at the time of the Revolutionary War. On November 5, 1776 he petitioned the Virginia Legislature in regard to his warehouse on Potomac Creek, "called Cave's Warehouse being appointed a Navel Depot".

In the neame of God. Amen.I William Cave of the parish Coernharton and County of Stafford planter being very week of body, but os Perfect Sence and sound memory. Blessed be therefor of almighty God do make and ordain and Publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following Viz- Imprimid. I give and bequeathh to my son James all my lands and tenaments. with their and every of their appurtenanced Setuate lying and being in the said parish and county and to him the said James and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten ever and for default of Such -ssine then I give the same to my daughter Elizabeth and the heirs of her body lawfully begotten forever and for default os such so---. then I give the same to my right heirs is Law. Item I give to my son three Negroes to next Tom. Joeslin, Alice to him and his heirs forever
Item I give and bequeath to my said daughter Elizabeth three Negroes to Giles Daniel and Lucy to her and her heirs forever also one good new feather bed Coloster and pillows a pair of sheets a quilt and a rugg with a card and bester, Item I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Anne one third part of all my lands and tensaments forever for and during her natural life also the three following Negroes Viz Roger Peter and Hannah to be at her own will and disposable, Item I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Anne my son James and daughter Elizabeth all the residue of my persoanl estateos what kind or nature --- to be equally divided amoung them, Item I desire that these three Negroes to wit, Booker Winny and London be sold at auction to the hight bidder by my exectors hereafter mentioned and the monies from the sale be applied to mynjust debts. Also I make and ordain my beloved wife Anne and John Waugh Exectors of this my las will and Testament hereby revolking and disannulling all former and wills by me heretofore made.In wittnesses I have here to set my hand and seal this seventeeth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and forth two.
