Dale Cave, 89, died Thursday June 14, 2012 at Fisher County Assisted Living Facility. Services will 1:30 p.m. Saturday June 16, 2012 at Cross Roads Baptist Church. Born September 9, 1922 in Fisher County, Dale was a son of the late Walter W. and LaVona (Shanks) Cave.
Dale was a lifelong resident of Fisher County and graduated from Hobbs High School.
While serving in the Army during WWII Dale lived in many places throughout the United States.
He married Doshia (Chism) on June 1, 1941 in Fisher County.
He was a farmer, rancher, and the Hobbs Gin manager for twenty years.
Dale loved adventures and traveling. He also liked to fish and was a great whistler.
Dale was a Mason and a member of the Hobbs Baptist Church until it closed and joined Cross Roads Baptist Church in Rotan where he served as a deacon.
He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife Doshia Cave of Rotan; one son, Windle Cave of Camp Springs; two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy Gordon and husband Howard of Midway and Janiece Cave Stephenson of Abilene; eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
