Three Cave ancestors were listed in the 1783 Property tax list. I have assumed they were siblings (may be in error) they were David with negros, Benjamin, and John with negros.Death
In he name of God Amen. Auguat the 4th one thousand seven hundred ninety two I David Cave of Culpeper County being in a low and weak state of health, but in perfect --- and memory thanks be to God for the same and as touching such worldly Estate as pleases God to bless me with I di give and bbequath my sole to almighty God that gave it me and my body to the earth to be buried in a christian like mannerItem I give my well beloved nephew Benjamin Cave Jr all my tracks of land where on I now live with all the impertinances there unto belonging to him his heirs and assignes forever and my will in that he the said Benjamin Cave Jr do pay to my well beloved brothers John Cave and Richard Cave as follows to wit' to Richard Cave fifty pounds in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred ninety four and on the twenty fifth day of December to be due, and to pay my brother John Cave on the twenty fifth day of December in one thousand seven hundred ninety five the sum of thirty pounds and to my brother Richard Cave and John Cave to be payed to their heirs and assines for ever----
Item My wish that all my negroes and present estate be sold by mt exectors and money raising from the sale be equal divided between my brother William Cave, Alexander Guby, Hannah Mab--y Elizabeth Taylor and Valentine Johnson to them their heirs and assigns forever---
Item I nominate and appoint my wise beloved nephew Belfield Cave my hole and sole exector to my last will and testament in wittnesses where of I have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year written above.
