I thought this may be of interest to some of the Cave Clan.I,too,research my family history and love to find any info any way possible...I'm from Augusta,Georgia and noticed there were posts regarding Cave's in this area and Barwell,S.C.
While reading this morning's newspaper online,I came across an article which stated two graves were found 300 yards from the Barnwell County Airport(very small airstrip)in Barwell,South Carolina..both in need of repair and upkeep....The markers read: William Cave-Born Feburary 1821 Died April 19,1887---He was a Confederate Soldier.The second marker is his Wife Julia Ann Ashely...The article does not give dates concerning Julia's birth day or death.However if anyone would like more information the article can be found in the September 8th Issue of the Augusta Chronicle newspaper under the metro section..it also shows a picture of gravesite and man that found it,he's concerned about the upkeep of all old gravesites in the area...his name is listed and shouldn't be too hard to locate by e-mail or snail mail if interested in more info....You can find the article online at www.augustachronicle.com...If the date is past Sept 8th,just click on "archives"....then the correct date.I hope someone can use this wonderful piece of history.

According to the paper files I have on my Ashley research, there was an Augustus F. Cave that was the son of Julia Ann Ashley (b. Nov 29, 1831 d. Feb 9, 1906) & William L. Cave (b. Feb. 1821 d. April 19, 1887 & was the son of Frances Ann Parker & Tarleton Cave.) This Augustus F. Cave (b. April 6, 1852 married Ella Easterling (dau. of Lucy Kennedy & Henry H. Easterling.Augustus & Ella's children were: Ernest Claude Cave, Nora Cave, Ida Cave, Johnnie Cave, Lula Cave, & Laurin Augustus Cave.
