Anita Ursula Greenwood, 88, of South Bend, passed away at 8:35 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2005, in Regency Place of South Bend. She was born February 17, 1917, in South Bend, as the daughter of Clarence and Mary Grace (Probst) Goheen, and had remained a lifelong resident of this area. On September 2, 1939, in South Bend, as Anita Goheen, she married Jennings D. Greenwood. They enjoyed more than 51 years of marriage until his passing on March 14, 1991. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Laskowski and Leatha Garbacz; and two brothers, Edmond Goheen and Daniel Goheen. Mrs. Greenwood is survived by her daughter, Ginger (Barry) Dreibelbeis of South Bend; two sons, Larry J. (Connie) Greenwood of South Bend and Loren E. (Sandra) Greenwood of Cassopolis, MI. Also surviving are two sisters, Theresa (Nick) Mester of South Bend and Ila Badtke of Madison, WI; seven grandchildren, Christopher (Marcia) Greenwood, Loree Greenwood, Kelli (Cecil) Porman, Kimberly Dreibelbeis, Karen (Kyle) Hall, Heather (James) Holcomb and Gretchen (Brian) McEndarfer; 13 great-grandchildren; and a very special niece, Marianne Arata, who resided with her. Mrs. Greenwood always enjoyed helping others. She also helped her husband with the dairy cattle, and enjoyed canning. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. today in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel.Birth: Feb. 17, 1917
