Death
John E. Goheen, 74 of South Bend, Indiana passed away suddenly on Monday, October 15, 2007 in his home. John was born on July 31, 1933 in Tyner, Indiana to Ruth (Tribby) and Lester Goheen.On November 26, 1960, John married Rosemary Gundeck who survives. Surviving with his wife is his son, Earl (Laura) Goheen of Bristol, Indiana; grandsons, Kyle and Kevin Goheen; sisters, Mildred (Harold) Hostetler of Walkerton, Indiana, Edna Swihart of Plymouth, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
John retired from Bertrand Products where he was employed as a machinist.
He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, graduated from Tyner High School, served in the US Army and enjoyed reading car magazines, watching NASCAR and taking care of his Old English Sheepdogs.
Visitation for John will be held from 3-8 pm Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Friday, October 19, 2007 at St. Jude Catholic Church where friends may visit from 9:30 am until 10 am. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
