SOUTH BEND - John E. Goheen, 74, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 15, 2007, in his home. John was born on July
31, 1933, in Tyner, Indiana, to Ruth (Tribby) and Lester Goheen. On November 26, 1960, John married Rosemary Gundeck, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are his son, Earl (Laura) Goheen of Bristol, Indiana; grandsons, Kyle and Kevin Goheen; sisters, Mildred (Harold) Hostetler of Walkerton, Indiana, and Edna Swihart of Plymouth, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. John retired from Bertrand Products where he was employed as a machinist. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, graduated from Tyner High School, was a U.S. Army veteran, and enjoyed reading car magazines, watching NASCAR, and taking care of his Old English sheepdogs. Visitation for John will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 18, 2007, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2007, in St. Jude Catholic Church, where friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 10 a.m.
