Services for John Goheen to be Held Monday AfternoonOne o'clock next Monday afternoon is the time announced by the Pioneers of Alaska for the funeral service for John Goheen, old-time Alaskan believed to have died sometime Monday night, Jan 7 when his cabin on the Badger road burned. His body was found on Wednesday, Jan 9 beside the ruins of hi log home. He had died, evidently, form exhaustion while fighting the flames onetime the previous Monday night.
Services, under the auspices of the Pioneers of Alaska, will be held at the Fairbanks Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in the Pioneers' plot in Birch Hill cemetery.
Mr Goheen was a miner in the Koyukuk district, having come to the territory in 1893. He has lived in Fairbanks since 1919.
A native of New Bethleham, Pa., John Goheen was born July 7, 1871. His only family is a sister, Amy, believed to reside in Pennsylvania.
