Charles Gohean, Charles Gohean owner, 1 house, 1 acre, value 150.Miscellaneous
from narrative of Thomas Ellwood Longshore 10 jan 1891... He did not return but engaged with Charles Goheen, a wheelwright, who lived in the east end of Attleboro.
Father remained with Goheen some three years, learning his trade. Goheen had two bad boys, Dick and Jim, who gave him some trouble. When their father was away, they would be in the shop annoying and interrupting father at his work, and sometimes doing mischief; for which father was held responsible.
Goheen told father he would hold him accountable for any disorder or damage in the shop; handling them roughly. They made great complaint of his abuse and cruelty towards them. This produced some dissatisfaction, and thing did not work harmoniously.
... Grandfather Euclydas had died 6th month 14th, 1804, when father was n his nineteenth year and serving his apprenticeship with Charles Goheen. ...
