Captain Michael Weaver (also Weber, Weaber, etc) was born in Germany about the year 1722. He came to America either in 1741 or 1751, and was naturalized by the Supreme Court at Philadelphia, Pa. Sept 24, 1762. Egle says that Michael Weaver and his wife, Anna Barbara presented a communion service to the Lutheran Church of Heidelberg Township, Lancaster Co., Pa., in 1764. He was assessed in Penn Township for the first time in 1771. In 1775 he was one of the road supervisors of the township. In 1787, he was assessed with 200 acres and considerable personal property in the township. The same year, he was granted a warrant of survey for 250 additional acres. In 1789, he and his wife, Barbara, were members of the Row's (Salem) Lutheran Church. According to the U.S. census of `1790, his family at that time consisted of one male, over 16 years, and two females. About 1797, he followed some of his sons to what is now Haines Twp. Centre County, Pa., where he died in May 1801. His will is recorded at Bellefonte, Pa. It is believed that he is buried at Wolf's Chapel in Centre County. On Oct 8 1776, Michael was commissioned Captain of the 2nd company, 4th battalion of the Northunberland County Militia, and he held the commission for at least two years. It is believed that Michael lived between the villages of Salem and Kantz in Penn Township. The children of Michael and his wife were David (1758-1813)k who married Eva Wolf; Michael Jr. who married Catherine Elizabeth daughter of the pioneer , who married one of the Row's of Salem section; Christina, who married ; a Brown, and died before 1801Andrew Morr; Andrew; Margaret Elizabeth, who married a Juliana (1760-1813), who married a Stover (Stober) and is buried at Wolf's Chapel Cemetery in Centre County Pa.Taxes

This Weaver Family had as its ancestor in this country, a Michael Weaver (or Weber) who came to America from Wurtemburg, Germany as a single man at the age of 19, landing at Philadelphia September 19, 1741. He made the voyage on the ship "Lydia" via Rotterdam and Deal, with other immigrants from Germany, Michael settled in what is now Schaefferstown, Lebanon County, Penna. He married Anna Barbara...., and they had nine children. He and his oldest son John became naturalized citizens of Great Britain at Phila. in 1762 Michael and Barbara donated the communion service to the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Heidelberg township, then Lancaster County in 1764.
About 1770 Michael moved with his family, several of whom were married, to Northumberland County, near Salem (now Snyder County), where he appeared on the tax lists from 1771 to 1787, Michael and at least his two sons John and David served in the Revolutionary army in the "Rangers of the Frontier" from 1776 to 1783. Michael became a Captain under Colonel Peter Hosterman. About 1796 Michael moved to Haines township, Northumberland County (now Centre) near Woodward. He was preceded by his sons, John and David. Michael appeared on the tax lists from 1797-1801. He died early in 1801, writing a will in April which was recorded May 11, 1801 at the Bellefonte Court House, He and his wife were buried in unmarked graves at Wolfs Chapel.
