Born in Centre Hall, July 1, 1927, to Nancy McWilliams and Henry (Harry) Potter, he was a carrier for the Centre Daily Times and manned the CDT tent at the Grange Fair. Taylor graduated from Centre Hall-Potter High School (1945), served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, received a B.S. in Architecture, Pennsylvania State University (1950), a Master's Degree in Divinity, San Francisco Theological Seminary (1954), and was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship (1966). On Dec. 11, 1954, he married Elizabeth Joan Yaw of Sitka, Alaska. Taylor then began a lifelong career as an architect and minister. He built churches, hospitals, and schools as a missionary and architectural consultant completing over 120 projects in over 40 countries. As a Presbyterian minister, he served churches in California, Thailand, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo; his children Terry, Dee Ann (Wylie), Lance, and Taylor; nine grandchildren; sister, Eleanor; brother, Bill; and many beloved nieces and nephews. While we are immeasurably saddened by our loss, we celebrate a life well lived in the service of God and filled with love and friendship. A memorial service will be held Dec. 29, 2011, at 3 p.m., in Marwick Hall, Monte Vista Grove Homes, 2889 San Pasqual Street, Pasadena, CA 91107.
