Obituary; Dr. George Bailey Goheen died at his his at Coalport, Clearfield County, early Saturday morning. He had not been in good health for several years and a year or more ago underwent an operation, at the Philipsburg State hospital, for the amputation of a leg.Born at Boalsburg in May 21, 1872, he was a son of John B and Mary Goheen. While yet a boy his parents moved onto a farm, near Pennsylvania Furnace, where he attended the public schools. later taking a course at the Lock Haven Normal. He taught school several years, took a two years course at the University of Michigan, then entered the Jefferson Medial College, Philadelphia, graduating in 1901. Following his graduation he taught school at Hastings several years then located at Glasgow for the practice of his profession. From Glasgow he went to Blandburg and 35 years ago located at Coalport.
He was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church and served as a school director in Coalport, and for ten years was president of the board. He was a member of the Clearfield county Medical Society, the State Medical Society, Coalport Lodge of Masons, Williamsport Consistory and Jaffa Shrine Temple, Altoona. In 1906 he married Miss Myrtle Ashton of Houtzdale, who survives, with one daughter, Miss Emma, at home; also three sisters, Miss Anna Mary, Nora and Lettie Goheen, on the farm homestead at Pennsylvania Furnace, and one nephew, George Bailey Goheen of State College.
Funeral services were held at his late home at 2 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev Edward T Tuten, assisted by the Rev John McCurdy, burial have been made in the cemetery at Glasgow, Cambria County.
