Carl J. Posthuma, 67, of 221 Second St., Randolph, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 1995 at his home.
Funeral services will be on Monday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m. at Second Christian Reformed Church, Randolph. The Rev. Martin J. Toonstra will officiated. Burail will be in the Randolph Cemetery.
Mr. Posthuma was born on Oct. 19, 1927 in Green Lake County, Wis., the son of John and Clara (Hoffman) Posthuma. He married Theresa Douma on Dec. 18, 1952. He was a lifelong resident of the Randolph area. He was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church, Randolph and served as deacon and was a longtime employee of various farm implement companies as a mechanic.
Survivors include his wife Theresa, Randolph; one daughter, Debra (William Jr.) Bradley, Randolph; one son, Philip (Mary) Posthuma, Randolph; four grandchildren; five sisters, Agnes Schmidt, Fox Lake, Grace (Orlin) Fietz, Waupun, Jeanette (Jerry) Tiepkema, Waupun, Silvia (Clinton "Tiny") Smith, Waupun, Claraine (Ronald) Buteyn, Waupun; four brothers, Jake (Betty) Posthuma, Waupun, Clarence "Cliff" (Alice) Posthuma, Brandon, James (Betty) Posthuma, Waupun and Alvin (Jane) Posthuma, Randolph; one sister-in-law, Winnie Posthuma, Beaver Dam; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Eli Posthuma.
Friends may call at the Medema-Gove Community Funeral Home, Randolph on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Monday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to the hour of services.
