Arrived on the Potsdam from Rotterdam, Zuid Holland, Netherlands at the age of 29 years and settled in Midland Park, New Jersey, USADeath
Mrs. Emert (Jelske) Cuperus, the oldest resident of Hull, died June 7 at a Hull Nursing Home of a brief illness. She was 100.Services were at 1:30 p.m. June 10 in the First Christian Reformed Church. The Rev. John B. Hulst officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Kraai Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cuperus was born May 15, 1876, in the Netherlands. She adn her husband came to the United States in 1906 and settled at Midland Park, N.J.
In 1917, Mr. and Mrs. Cuperus moved to Sioux County and farmed west of Hull until 1937 when they retired to Hull; Mr. Cuperus died in 1950 at Hull.
Mrs. Cuperus was a member of the First Christian Reformed church at Hull.
Survivors include a son, Louis of Hull; 17 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
