Emert Cuperus, son of Marten and Klaaske Cuperus, was born in Paesens, Friesland in the Netherlands, on August 20, 1873.He was married to Jelske Bakker on August 1, 1901. They moved to America in 1906 and settled in Midland Park, New Jersey and later moved to Hull, where he passed away on July 18, 1950.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, four sons: Martin, Nick, Henry and Louis; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sons and one grandson preceded him in death; Klaas in infancy, Peter in 1944, and Calvin a son of Peter in 1946.
