Bonny Jean Docekal, 82, a resident of Pottsville, died Thursday, November 12, 2015, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville.

She was born October 21, 1933, in Marshall to Arthur Dewey and Nona Belle Godfrey Kimbrell. She retired from Kroger in Russellville after many years as a non-food associate. She attended the Bell’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Atkins. She loved European sports cars and wouldn’t miss Motor Week on television. She was an outstanding cook; enjoyed gardening, sewing and her pets; and always made sure her house was spotless. Her greatest accomplishment was being a mother. She was preceded in death by her parents; a pet dog, Jake; and a pet cat, Taz.

She is survived by her husband 60 years, Bennie Docekal of Pottsville; a son and her best friend, Timothy Docekal of Pottsville; a daughter, Tina Docekal and her husband, Harold Appukuttan, of Russellville; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Sharron Kimbrell of Clinton; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Don Rickard of Russellville; two aunts, Chleora Bell of Tilly and Linda Campbell of Olivehurst, California; her pet cat, Dandy; and other relatives and friends.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2015, at Bell’s Chapel United Methodist Church at Atkins with the Rev. Naomi Rogers and the Rev. Michael Blanchard officiating. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery at Tilly under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Harold Appukuttan, Dick Bucky, Jerry Tanner, the Rev. Michael Blanchard, Thomas Wilcutt, Ryan Sweeden and Eric Sweeden.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
