LEON ARIEL RYDER

Leon was a farmer on Canaan Road, and retired to Upper Ridge. There were no children to this family. Leon is one of a very few Ryders whose lineage is given in Loyalist Lineages.

Leon and Edith Ryder operated the Canaan Road farm with Charles Gilbert Thorne and took it over following Charlei Thorne's death. Edith and Leon sold the farm to Harold Constantine and moved to a smaller house in Upper Ridge. After Julia Cosman's death (Edith's sister), Leon and Edith took in Roy Cosman as a young boy. He helped Leon with numerous farm chores while growing up. [Thorne Book]
