ROY HERBERT RYDER
(16 Mar 1885 - 29 Mar 1911)
Roy was a railroad dispatcher stationed to British Columbia. He became ill there and returned to Havelock to die. His wife Bessie Smith had immigrated to Canada in 1906. Following the death of her husband, Bessie returned to the Havelock area, where she remarried, and outlived her first husband by 61 years.
