HARRY ALLAN COREY

He was called Harold in the 1901 census, but was generally known as Harry. He was a businessman in Harvey Station NB, and for a time a member of the New Brunswick Legislature. Harry's obituary reads,

Harry Corey was a Liberal Member of the Legislature Assembly from 1944 to 1952. He was President of the New Brunswick Liberal Party from 1952 to 1958. In his younger years, he worked at pulp mills in Millinocket ME. He then purchased all the assets of Pinder Lumber and Milling Co, Ltd. He ran these mills for years, along with a large pulp business with offices in Harvey, York County NB, where he and his family lived. He also owned a Chevrolet auto sales and servce center in Harvey for a number of years. Harry was a well liked man, and was known for his dependability and word. His successful businesses gave employment to many people for many years. [The Fredericton Daily Gleaner, 28 Jun 1993, p. 18]

Harry's lumber business was called Harry Corey Ltd, and was inherited by his sons under the same name. The company was liquidated some years ago. [Corey Book]
