ALBERT BICKMORE COREY

(17 Dec 1898 - 9 Nov 1963)

His parents were missionaries in India. He returned to Canada and served in the Canadian Infantry, and was commissioned in the Royal Air Force in WWI. He graduated from Acadia University in 1922, received an M.A. from Acadia and Harvard University, and Ph.D from Clark University in 1934. He became a Professor of History at St. Lawrence University in New York State, and at the time of his death was State Historian for the State of New York.

He published a number of books, the titles of which show the direction of his interests: Conference on Canadian-American Affairs, 1939; The Crisis of 1830-1842 in Canadian-American Relations, 1941; The Local Historian in New York, 1945; The History of the New York State Flag, 1951.
