The birth place of the children perhaps tell more about this family than any other record. Gideon Corey was born either in Queen's County or Carleton County, where his parents moved about the time of his birth. He married in Maine, then removed to New Hampshire, then back to Maine, then to Iowa. The many moves would indicate an unsettled life, until finally finding a permanent residence in Iowa - but not until a few more moves in that state.
