ESTHER COREY
(30 May 1749 - 20 Dec 1836)
Her husband is the "E. Slocum" mentioned in Gideon Corey's letter of 11 Apr 1783. He was a Lieutenant or Captain in the New England Loyalists, and was captured with Gideon and held captive by a certain Mr. Baker in Boston. He removed with his family to New Brunswick in 1783, settling along the Saint John River. There were many children to this marriage. A Mayflower line through this family of Slocums is given in Rhode Island Mayflower Lineages, Vol 2, pp. 17-18. [Corey Book]
