Myrtle Jeanette Emery

Myrtle Hoffpauir, 65, of Vidor passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2004, at her new home in Evadale, TX., next door to her son Rex HoffpauirJr. After a battle with cancer, she was born in Beaumont, TX., and grew up in Buna, TX. She spent most of her life raising her 5 children. For several years she and her husband worked and owned a small grocery store called Terry Road grocery in Vidor. She also, assisted her husband cooking for numerous fundraisers that the Beaumont Fire Department held. The greatest joy in her life, was the love she had for the Lord. She has walked closely by him since the mid 70's. for many years she was involved in a bus ministry at Calvary Baptist in Vidor, and brought many children to church. She lead in bible study's at local nursing homes, and was a faithful and loyal member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, TX., under the leadership of Bro Bobby Edwards. Funeral services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2004 at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church in Vidor, with Rev. George Gau officiating, under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rex Hoffpauir Sr., and son Larry Hoffpauir. She is survived by her 3 sons, Rex Hoffpauir Jr and his wife Sarah of Evadale, David Hoffpauir of Beaumont, and Michael Hoffpauir and his fiancee' Rachel Denmon of Vidor, and one daughter Lori Dodge Welch and her husband Kent of Buna, TX. Nine grandchildren, Crystal Antley, Derek Dodge, Dustin Dodge, Daniel Dodge, Devin Hoffpauir, Terra Hoffpauir, Andrew Hoffpauir, Chastine Hoffpauir, and Logan Hoffpauir, and one great grandchild Caitlyn Antley. Four brothers, Jr and Doris Ener, Buddy and Sarah Ener, and Bobby and Margaret Ener all of Hemphill, TX., and Donald and Virginia Ener of Sour Lake, TX., one aunt Cathleen Rice of Hemphill, TX., and many cousins , nieces and nephews. The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dorothy "Dottie" Fontenot, her best friend and caregiver for the past 4 months, words can't express how grateful we are, you are a special lady.
