SULPHUR - Jearald Dorwin Hoffpauir, 53, died at 12:10 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2005, in St. Patrick Hospital. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Sulphur. Monsignor Vincent Sedita will officiate. He donated his body to LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport. Born Nov. 24, 1951, in Lake Charles, he was a lifelong resident of Sulphur. He was a graduate of Sulphur High School, Sowela Technical College and McNeese State University. He served in the Army, and was honorably discharged with the grade of E5. He worked as a journeyman pipefitter with Local 106 and later as a draftsman. He completed his career as an industrial designer with his workplace family at Recon Engineering. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. An avid sports fan, Jerry served the community as a volunteer youth coach. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Smith Hoffpauir of Sulphur; son, Jonathan Derek Hoffpauir of Sulphur; mother, Delores Jean Hoffpauir of Sulphur; sister, JoAnn Hoffpauir of Sulphur; brothers, Jayce and Michael Hoffpauir, both of Sulphur, and Jeffery Hoffpauir of Dry Creek; five godchildren, Adrienne Hanks, Lauren Hoffpauir, Nathaniel Hoffpauir, Donavan Hoffpauir and Joshua Daylan Hoffpauir; and a host of other loving and caring family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, J.D. Hoffpauir; and grandparents, Gertrude Ramsey, John Ramsey, Elbert Corkran, Mary Lou Hoffpauir and Newton Bascom Hoffpauir.
