Burial
Matthew Cormier, 72, of Seadrift, Texas, died Sunday, November 21, 2004. He was born November 17, 1932 in Acadia Parish. He was a former resident of Sulphur. Cormier is survived by his mother, Alma Smith Sensat of Burton, TX; his son, Van Cormier, Sr., and daughter-in-law, Eufaula Cormier, of Seadrift; brothers Huiet Cormier and Bobby Cormier of Sulphur, Herbert Cormier of Port Lavaca, TX and Walter Sensat of Brenham, TX; sisters Wilma Fontenot of Welsh, Peggy Moore of DeQuincy, Judy Myers and Shirley Sensat, both of Burton; and three grandchildren. Cormier was preceded in death by his father, Van A. Cormier of Sulphur. Visitation was held Friday, November 26 from 6-8 p.m. in Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home in Port Lavaca. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 27 in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Walter Sensat officiating. Interment followed in Seadrift Cemetery.
