Burial
Obituary: Bill Hoffpauir, 65, of Lubbock died Jan. 22, 2015. Services will be 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Bill was born on December 7, 1949 to Monroe and Hazel (Webb) Hoffpauir at Lake Charles, LA. He graduated from Sam Rayburn High School and was drafted into the U.S. Air Force in 1970, where he served in Laredo, Texas, Selma, Alabama, Del Rio, Texas, the Republic of West Germany and Lubbock, Texas. In 1990, Bill retired while serving at Reese Air Force Base as an Aerospace Propulsion Technician. He served meritoriously and received many citations and awards including: Training ribbon, Small arms expert marksmanship ribbon, NCO professional military education graduate ribbon, Longevity service ribbon, Overseas long tour ribbon, National defense service medal, Good conduct medal, Outstanding unit award ribbon, Achievement medal, and Commendation medal. A year following his draft into the Air Force, Bill married Maria Teresa Moreno-Guiterrez and she died in 1998 after a battle with cancer. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Bill worked as an EMS paramedic for 6 years with Lubbock General Hospital. He received his Associates’ degree from South Plains College and worked as a respiratory therapist and was part of the neo-natal transport flight team at UMC. Bill married Gloria Flores on May 12, 2006 in Lubbock. He was ASC certified and a jet engine mechanic, a member of the NRA and an outdoorsman enjoying, hunting and fishing. Along with his parents, and his first wife, Bill is also preceded in death by a sister Barbara Hoffpauir. Bill is survived by his wife, Gloria Hoffpauir, two sons, Mariano Jason ("Vina") Hoffpauir of Lawton, OK and William Louis Hoffpauir of Lubbock; three daughters, Vanessa Salas of Lubbock, Naomi DeLeon of Austin, and Amy Hoffpauir of Lubbock, seven grandchildren, Anastasia (Matthew) Hoffpauir-Boyles, David Hoffpauir, Austin Hoffpauir, Kaitlyn Hoffpauir, Alizay Llanas, Isaac Hernandez, and Sebastian DeLeon, and two brothers, Donald (Janah) Hoffpauir of Denton, and James (Elizabeth) Hoffpauir of Lake Charles, LA.Endnotes
