Dorothy Leverkuhn, 84, died at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, in Lake Charles. She was a native of Grand Rapids, Mich., and a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. She was Baptist. She was a hairdresser. She was a homemaker who loved to crochet and quilt. She was a loving mother and dearly loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Survivors include two sons, John "Buddy" Leverkuhn Jr. of Ragley and Frank Leverkuhn of Lake Charles; two daughters, Patsy Johanna Carney of DeQuincy and Jacklyn Wood of Lake Charles; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Leverkuhn Sr., and her daughter, Mrs. Marion Hoffpauir. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in Hixson Funeral Home. The Rev. Richard Beckham will officiate. Burial will be in LeBleu Cemetery in Chloe. Visitation is 2:30-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Friday. (LCAP Dec 19, 2002)
