Nickname:<NICK> Jacob BIOGRAPHY: "Jacob" Humbert's grandfather Ant oine Humbert was a member of the landed class in Alsace-Lorraine whe n in 1683, the king sig ned the Edict of Nance, forcing Humbert to liq uidate his assets and flee to Fra nenburg in Upper Hessen. Jacob Humb ert emigrated from Rotterdam on the Janet, arriving at Philadelphia o n October 7, 1751. Jacob Humbert moved his family to Augusta County , Virginia in the late 1780's-early 1790's. Jacob Humbert was g rante d several tracts of land on December 15, 1808 located in Montgomery an d Pr eble Counties, in Ohio. This land was never settled however. J acob Humbert S r. died in Augusta County, Virginia around September, 1 819, when Jacob Humbert Jr. was appointed as the administrator of hi s estate. He would have been 89 ye ars old.
