Jacob Beaman

BIOGRAPHY: Jacob Beaman, born circa 1780, was the son of Abraham and E lizabeth (Dage/D'Auge) Beaman. He married Winifred Langdon in 1800 i n Johnston County, N orth Carolina. The family settled in Morgan Town ship, Owen County, Indiana (Bl anchard, 787). His son, (Haltom, 9) Za chariah Beaman (b: circa 1810), married Catharine Randol in March 183 0 in Owen County. Zach and Catherine were received at Vernal Baptis t Church in Monroe County in November 1849 (Indiana Source Boo k II, p age 271); he was in Warren County, Iowa by 1870. Jacob's daughter, (Ha lt om, 8) Rachel (born 1818 or earlier), married Elias Hicks in 1831 . Jacob, Winni e and Rachel were enumerated in the 1850 Federal censu s with son, Jacob L. who had married Linna Lucas in May 1840. Jacob di ed between 1852 and 1860, possibly in Warren County, Iowa where Jaco b L. had migrated by 1852. Winnie was enumera ted in the 1860 census w ith Jacob L. in Panora Township, Guthrie County, Iowa.
