BIOGRAPHY: JACOB QUERY, LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, was born Nov. 27, 1843. Hi s parents w ere Daniel and Delilah (Shippell) Query. His father wa s a native of Maryland, a nd his mother of Ohio. They came at an earl y day to Rush County, and remained t here several years, when they cam e to Shelby County and settled near Cynthiana; they lived there unti l the death of Daniel Query, which took place about 1870. His wife i s still living in Cynthiana. The subject of this sketch, at the a g e of 14, went to live with his brother, George W, to learn the trad e of blacksm ithing. He remained with him for about ten years, when h e commenced for himself in the same business in Cynthiana. BIOGRAPHY : Jan 12, 1868, Mr. Query was mar ried to Miss Melissa Jarrell, at Cyn thiana. He has had four children --- Dalton , Harry G., and two who di ed in infancy. When Mr. Query commenced business for himself, he had a bout $300, but by industry and good work he soon built up a fi ne trea de, and now has a nice home and steady business. Politically, he i s a De mocrat. His wife is a daughter of Andrew and Eliza Jarrell, nat ives of Virginia , who came to Indiana at an early day, and are now li ving in Kansas. Mr. Query is a young man to have made such a start i n life; with good business prospects before him and a pleasant home , he may surely look forward to long life of hap piness.
