BIOGRAPHY: Ezekiel Haltom was born January 7, 1822 in Montgomery Count y, North Carolina to William and Elizabeth (Sugg) Haltom. First he mar ried on January 30 , 1844 to Matilda J. Cassida, born ca.1828 (divorce d), and then on January 24, 1857 to Amy Langdon, born May 26, 1836. Ez ekiel Haltoms first purchase of land in Owen County occurred on Januar y 20, 1848 when he purchased 40 acres in Morga n township. In 1849, Ez ekiel patented 87 acres in Jackson township,relocating t here. Amy suf fered from bronchitis. Ezekiel was living in Jackson township, 185 0 , in the Village of Cataract in Jennings township from 1870-80 and die d there, March 18, 1901.
