Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Norbert H. "Norb" Wensman, age 91 of St. Cloud and formerly of Opole, who died Friday, July 29, 2005 at Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell. Reverend Timothy Baltes will officiate. Burial will be in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish Cemetery in Opole. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Norb was born on August 4, 1913 in Freeport, Minnesota to Herman and Mary (Klassen) Wensmann. He married Bernadine Ebnet on May 27, 1936 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Holdingford. Norb farmed near Holdingford for 29 years, retiring in 1965. Norb then worked for ten years for Plywood Minnesota in St. Cloud. Norb was a past member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Opole and a current member of St. Paul's Parish in St. Cloud. Norb was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Norb is survived by his daughter, Margaret Samec of Forest Lake; three grandsons, Anthony (Margaret) Samec of St. Paul, Brian Samec of Minneapolis, and Paul Samec (fianc Pamela) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and friend, Sarah Marek of Sartell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernadine; son, James; and four brothers and three sisters.
