Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids for Paul A. Wensmann, age 89, who died Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Rev. Eugene Doyle will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Monday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Family Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids. Sauk Rapids Senior Citizens will pray at 4:30 p.m. followed by Sacred Heart Holy Name Society and Catholic Aid Association at 6:00 p.m. and parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. all Monday at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Paul was born Oct. 14, 1913 in Millwood Township (rural Stearns County) to Bernard and Elizabeth (Hoppe) Wensmann. He married Rose Kunstleben on May 27, 1940 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Paul farmed in rural Sauk Rapids for 26 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Holy Name Society, Catholic Aid Association, and Sauk Rapids Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his sons and daughter, Kenneth (Barbara) Wensmann of San Jose, Calif., Gerald (Joyce) Wensmann of Carson City, Nev., Thomas (Mary Helen) Wensmann of Sebring, Fla., Timothy (Peggy) Wensmann of Sartell, Steven Wensmann of Tucson, Ariz., Mary (James) Tholl of Foreston; 16 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose, on Jan. 25, 1997; son, Donald; brother, Aloys; sisters, Minnie Job and Clara Fitzgerald, and one grandson.
