Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Joseph for Phyllis M. Negaard, 60, who died Monday, September 22, 2003 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Gregory Miller, O.S.B. will officiate.
Arrangements are by the Williams Funeral Home, St. Cloud. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at the Williams Funeral Home, St. Cloud and also after 12:00 noon at the church on Wednesday.
Phyllis was born on February 6, 1943 in St. Cloud to Norbert and Catherine (Hollenkamp) Notch. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School and the St. Cloud Beauty College. She married Ronn Negaard on July 13, 1963 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, St. Cloud. She managed a hair salon for several years, was the co-owner of Tri-N-Ceramics and was co-owner and partner with her husband of Vill Norsk Inc for the past 12 years. She was also an avid sled dog racer. Phyllis had a passionate 25 year career of Horseshoe Pitching which included 14 times consecutive Minnesota State Women's Horseshoe Pitching Champion and five times Women's World Horseshoe Pitching Champion. Phyllis is also a member of the State and National Horseshoe Hall of Fame.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Ronn; son, Randy, St. Cloud; dog "daughter", Flirt; mother, Mrs. Catherine Notch, St. Cloud; brothers and sisters: Beverly (Everett) Nathe, St. Stephen; Marylin (Garry) Flam, St. Cloud; Cathleen Lesnau, Cape Coral, FL; Donald (Linda) Notch, Albany; Sandy (Rick) Karasch, St. Joseph.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Carol Ann Bibeau and Norma Jean Hennen. Memorials are preferred.
