Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Cathedral, lower church, for Norbert C. Majerus, 88, a resident of St. Benedict's Center and formerly of 1201 Ninth Ave. S, who died Monday at the center. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, St. Cloud, with full military honors provided by St. Cloud VFW Granite Post 428.Friends may call one hour before services Thursday at the church.Arrangements were made by Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Norbert Majerus was born in Mazeppa to Hubert and Catherine (Arendt) Majerus. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He married Theresa Harren on April 7, 1947, in Seven Dolors Catholic Church, Albany. He operated Lampert Lumber Yards Inc. in Bellchester until moving to St. Cloud in 1952. He was employed as a security guard at Eye Kraft Optical in St. Cloud for 23 years. He retired in 1975, but continued to work part time at the optical company until 1992. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral.
Survivors include his wife; daughters and son, Roxanne Stuhlfeier of Blaine, Gretchen Wain of Floodwood, and Jerry of Lewistown, Mont.; and six grandchildren.He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Hubert, Walter, Louis, Vincent, Hildegard Plier and Christine Befort.Memorials are preferred to St. Benedict's Center Hospice.
