Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Eileen K. Otte, age 84, of St. Cloud. Eileen peacefully passed away in the arms of her children on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the Country Manor Health Care Center in Sartell after a long fight against Alzheimer's disease. Reverend Greg Lieser will officiate. Burial will take place in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at a later date. Family and friends may call after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Eileen Katherine Otte was born on January 27, 1926 in Greenwald, Minnesota, the thirteenth child of Henry and Elizabeth (Nathe) Schulte. She married LeRoy Otte on July 30, 1949, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose. They made their home in St. Cloud, where she was a wife, mother and homemaker.
Eileen loved her husband, her children and especially her grandchildren, making all of them the center of her life. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and the VFW Post # 428 Auxiliary.
She leaves behind those who loved her; children, Debbie (Mike) Foehrenbacher, Linda (Gary) Zumwalde, Mike (Kathy), and Charlie; grandchildren, Sarah (Joe) Firkus, Anne (Mike) Nelms, Jenny (Ramzy) Filfili, Kaylan (fiancé Tom Pundsack) Otte, and Jonathan Otte; and three great grandchildren, Jack and Claire Firkus and Mark Nelms; sister, Lorraine (Ed) Schultzetenburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband LeRoy in 2004; infant daughter Mary Catherine; sisters, Jean Hackman, Louise Winter, Rose Raduenz, Marcella Lauer, Irene Sobkoviak, Rita Loxtercamp; and brothers, Anthony Schulte, Edwin Schulte, Alcuin Schulte, Wilfred Schulte and infant brother, Alois Schulte. A Special Thank You to all the wonderful doctors, nurses, staff and caregivers at Benedict Homes, and Country Manor, who compassionately cared for our mother and extended to our family amazing patience, understanding and support during this difficult journey.
