Evelyn Catherine Bauer

Evelyn C. Roelike, age 98 of Elrosa, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Fairway Pines in Sauk Centre. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa with Rev. Mark Stang officiating and Rev. Sylvester Kleinschmidt concelebrating. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
Evelyn Catherine Bauer was born August 21, 1914, in Elrosa to Math and Mary (Kranz) Bauer. On Nov. 21, 1944, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Roelike at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa. They were married for 55 years when Gilbert died on Nov. 21, 1999. Evelyn lived in Elrosa her whole life, where she worked at the North American State Bank for 70 years. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She also adored time with her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Evelyn was a member and choir member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Elrosa, Daughters of Isabella Joan of Arc Circle of Melrose and Christian Mothers of Elrosa.
Survivors include her daughter, Paulette Bachman (fiancé, Jerry Stark) of Alexandria; grandchildren, Tim (Trudi) Bachman of Richmond, Jason (Nicole) Bachman of Carlos and Tammy Bachman of Alexandria; 14 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Innocent (Freida) Roelike of Elrosa; and sister-in-law Marie Roelike of Becker.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Roelike; great-grandson, Levi Bachman; sisters, Bertha (John) Weber and Marcella (Frank) Hall; and brother, Jerome (Rita) Bauer. Serving as casket bearers were Brandon Bahner, Zachary Bachman, Sam Bachman, Tim Bachman, Jason Bachman and Harold Zenzen. Cross bearer was Alexis Bachman and scripture bearer was Alicia Bachman. Arrangements were made with Patton-Schad Funeral & Cremation Services of Sauk Centre.
