The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville, with Father Richard Leisen officiating. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 PM Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home in Paynesville, and one hour prior to the service at the church. A Catholic Aid Rosary will be held at 7 PM followed by Parish Prayers at 8 PM. Interment will be held in the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.

Eileen Ann Spanier was born May 29, 1939 in Lake Henry Township. She was the daughter of Alfred and Lidwina (Mehr) Spanier. Eileen was baptized and confirmed at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Lake Henry and grew up on a family farm in Lake Henry Township. She attended District #63 school and graduated from the Paynesville High School in 1957. From 1957 - 1959 she worked in St. Paul for Catholic Aid. Eileen was married to Charlie Schleper on October 8, 1960 in Lake Henry. Following their marriage they lived in Mankato and various communities in the five-state area while Charlie worked for NSP. In 1965 they returned to Paynesville where they farmed for several years. In 1990 they retired and moved into Paynesville where they have lived since. Eileen was a member of the St. Louis Catholic Church where she belonged to Catholic Aid.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Charlie of Paynesville; children, Roxy (and Joe) Moser of Paynesville, Pat (and Brenda) Schleper of Paynesville, Dean (and Kerry) Schleper of Paynesville, Doug (and Jill) Schleper of Paynesville, Peg (and Greg) Stang of Rockville, Lee Schleper of Paynesville, Terri (and Kirk) Athmann of Paynesville; 10 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Tom Spanier of Cold Spring, Walter (and LaVonne) Spanier of Paynesville, Charles Spanier of Paynesville; and 2 sisters, Fran (and Arnie) Simon of Minneapolis and Joan (and Tommy) Cebulla of Andover.

She was preceded in death by her Parents.
