Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2001, at 10 a.m. at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Evelyn M. Zirbes, age 73, of St. Cloud, who died Thursday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Entombment will take place in the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum in St. Cloud. Arrangements were made with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
Evelyn was born March 19, 1928, in St. Cloud, MN, to Ernest and Louise (Gasser) Hippler. She married Mathew Zirbes on April 28, 1945, in St. Cloud. She lived most of her life in St. Cloud. She was a homemaker and upholstered furniture.
Surviving Evelyn is her husband Mathew of St. Cloud; sons and spouses, Jerry (Carol), and Bill (Pam), all of St. Cloud; daughter and spouse, Brenda (Marvin) Oachs, of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Debbie DeLeo, Steven Zirbes, Brian Zirbes, Jennifer Zirbes, and Mandy Oachs; great-grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren DeLeo; brother, Ernest Hippler, Jr., of Minneapolis; and sisters, Margie Rushmeyer of White Bear Lake, Darlene Johnson of Duluth, and Dolores Isaacson of Two Harbors.
Preceding her in death are her parents; brothers, Melvin and Donald; and sister, Dorothy Whitney.
