Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church for Janette Essler, 80, who died Saturday at St. Michael's Hospital, Sauk Centre. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sauk Centre. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Monday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Janette Essler was born in Sauk Centre to Roy and Alice (Cumming) Hamilton. She married Raymond A. Essler on June 18, 1946, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Padua. They farmed in Raymond Township, Stearns County, until 1971. They then moved to Sauk Centre where they lived for eight years. They moved to Melrose in 1979. She had been a resident at St. Michael's Nursing Home since December 1995.
Survivors include her husband of Melrose; children, Eugene of Melrose, and Barbara Nathe of New Munich; brother and sisters, Glenn Hamilton of Sauk Centre, Clytia Allshouse of Sun City, Ariz., and Leta Hamilton of Melrose; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Laurel Hamilton.
