Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, Sauk Centre, for Raymond Essler, 79, who died Saturday at St. Michael's Nursing Home, Sauk Centre. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Sauk Centre. Parish prayers will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Sauk Centre.
Raymond Essler was born in Padua to Joseph and Theresia (Dirschel) Essler. He married Janette Hamilton on June 18, 1946, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Padua. The couple farmed in Raymond Township, Stearns County, until 1971. They moved to Sauk Centre where they lived for eight years before moving to Melrose in 1979. He was employed by Jennie-O Foods for 15 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church.
Survivors include his children, Eugene of Melrose, and Barbara Nathe of New Munich; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters, Alvina Bayer of Miltona, Celestine "Sally" Mildenberger of Hackensack, Delores Schmidt of Sauk Centre.
