Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 1 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Melrose for Bud Kramer who died on Tuesday, November 25 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Melrose Veterans Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. The Melrose Veterans Honor Guard will pray at 7 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Bud Kramer was born July 20, 1919 in Melrose to Bernard and Mary (Klein) Kramer. He served in the Army during WWII from 1942 - 1945. Bud spent 42 months in the south pacific installing communication equipment. He also worked at Litho Colorplate in Minneapolis for 24 years as a lithographer. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Melrose, and a life member of the American Legion Unit 101 and Schanhaar-Otte VFW Post 7050. Bud enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, hunting and fishing, and loved spending summers at the lake.
Survivors include his brother, Theodore Ted Kramer of Melrose, many nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry, Leo, and Raymond Kramer; sisters, Alvina Spaeth, Alma Kramer, Rose Illies, Louise Spehn, Veronica Wolf, Marie Parish, Ann Uhlenkamp, and infant sister, Helen Kramer.
