Gilbert H. Stein, age 80, St. Cloud, MN died Friday, December 6, 2002 at his home.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Cloud, MN. Visitation will be Monday, December 9, 2002 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Benson Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. American Legion service is 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud, MN.
Gilbert Stein was born May 17, 1922, in Cold Spring, MN to Nicholas and Josephine (Miller) Stein. He married Lorraine Orth on November 20, 1948, in St. Cloud, MN. He served in US Army during WW II. Gilbert worked at St. Cloud VA Hospital retiring in 1984 and was a member of the Waite Park American Legion Post #428.
Gilbert is survived by wife Lorraine; sons and daughters, Marilyn and David Stavrum of Forrest Lake, Ronald (Butch) and Cindy Stein of Brooklyn Park, Mark and Duwan Stein of Clearwater, Anita and Ronald Gaebel of Circle Pines, Kevin Stein of Sauk Rapids, Keith Stein of St. Cloud; brother, Albert of Waite Park; sisters, Veronica Morin and Caroline Illies, both of St. Cloud, Marcella Fischer of South Haven; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Elmer.
