Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2004 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Veronica M. Schlangen age 81, who died Sunday at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 -10:00 a.m. Saturday, at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The Christian Women will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m.
Veronica was born in St. Martin, MN to John and Christina (Arceneau) Blonigen. She married Erwin Schlangen on May 15, 1946. Veronica was a member of St. Boniface Church and the Christian Women.
Survivors include her children, Lawrence "Larry" (Danell Terhaar) of St. Cloud, Janice (Ralph) Beaudry of Elk River, Dennis of Backus, Linda of St. Cloud, Doreen of Apple Valley, Joyce (friend Jerry Koshiol) of St. Cloud, Steven of Eagan, Virgil (Angela Benda) of Cold Spring and Kevin (Jacqueline DeRosier) of Lakeville; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Paul Blonigen, Rose (Leander) Schefers, Daniel Blonigen and Christine (Ted) Maleska.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Erwin; son, Ronald; brothers and sisters, Frank Blonigen, Clement Blonigen, Louise Linz and Clara Minnerath. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
