Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for Donald Pundsack, 66, who died Tuesday at his home.Burial will be in the parish cemetery.Friends may call from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Patton-Schad Funeral Home, Melrose. Parish prayers will be 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Melrose.
Donald Pundsack was born in New Munich to Henry and Cecelia (Whesler) Pundsack. He was in the U.S. Army in Germany. He married Dolores Blonigen on May 16, 1956, in St. Martin. They farmed in the Freeport area for 20 years. He was employed by Kraft Foods for 22 years, until retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, and Roving Hillbilly Snowmobile Club in St. Rosa.
Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons, Denise Holmquist of Sauk Centre, Dorothea Bade of Carol Stream, Ill., Debby Hellermann and Daniel of Melrose, Darrell of Avon, and Dwayne and Delroy of Grey Eagle; sisters and brother, Julitta Blommel of Minneapolis, Margie Kenstad of Hopkins, Jeanette Toenies of Cold Spring, Eileen Lauer of St. Cloud, and Olivia Schwieters and Jerome of Melrose; and 15 Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his sister and brothers, Rosie Schwieters, Bernard, Elmer and Joseph.
