Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Christine R. Lahr, age 92, who died Thursday at the Assumption Nursing Home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Christian Women.
Christine was born in St. Martin, MN to Peter and Margaret (Gossler) Birk. She married Norbert Mumm who died in 1949. She then married Marcellus J. Lahr on April 10, 1950 in St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring. Christine was a loving wife and mother of six children. She was a homemaker, did daycare for her grandchildren and worked at Fingerhut for eight years. Christine enjoyed her grandchildren, playing cards and reading. She was a member of St. Boniface Parish and Christian Women.
Survivors include her children, Darlene (Buddy) Ramler of Crystal, Roger (Sharon) Mumm of Hutchinson, Thomas (Paula) Mumm of Prior Lake, Mary (Charles) Theisen of St. Cloud and Deb (Fran) Ramler of Cold Spring; 18 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren; brother, William Birk.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Norbert (1949) and Marcellus (2006); parents; daughter, Patricia Kaiser; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
