Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond for Edgar A. Dingmann, age 81, who died Wednesday of congestive heart failure at his home. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. The Golden Smiles and Catholic Aid Assn. will pray a rosary at 4:30 p.m., the Richmond Knights of Columbus and the Holy Rosary Mission Group will pray at 7:30 p.m., and parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m.
Edgar was born in Farming, MN to Bernard and Thresia (Rolfes) Dingmann. He married Marcella Peltz on September 2, 1947, in the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Richmond. The couple farmed near Richmond until retirement in 1985. Edgar's wife, Marcella, his children and their spouses, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and gardening were the joys of his life. He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Richmond Knights of Columbus, Catholic Aid Assn., and the Holy Rosary Mission Group.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella; children, David (Bev) Dingmann of Richmond, Melinda (Marshall) DeZeeuw of Cold Spring, George (Laurie) Dingmann of Rice, Tim (Karen) Dingmann of Avon, Vernon (Mary) Dingmann of Richmond, and Marcie (Gary) Kulzer of Albany; brothers and sisters, Anton Dingmann, Stella Brinkman, Verena Schaefer, Rita Silvers, and Jerome Dingmann; 15 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Michael Dingmann.
