Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pierz for Alma M. Maus, 92, of the Pierz Villa, who died Wednesday at the Villa. Father Gerald Dalseth, Father Virgil Brown and Father Alvin Quade will officiate and burial wil be in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery in Pierz. Friends may call form 4-9 p.m. Friday at Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz, and one hour prior to the services Saturday. Christian Mothers/Women prayers will be at 5 p.m. Friday followed by St. Joseph Parish prayers at 7 p.m. and the KC of the Dead at 8 p.m. at the Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz.
Alma was born April 4, 1909, in Spring Hill, to John and Mary (Heinen) Maus. She married Albert Maus on Feb. 20, 1933, in Spring Hill, MN. Together, they farmed in Spring Hill until the fall of 1934. They then moved to the Pierz area where they farmed until they retired in 1976. She was a member of St. Joseph's parish in Pierz and a member of Christian Mothers/ Women. She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo, Polka Masses and watching her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow.
Survivors include sons, daughters and their spouses, Julianna and Raymond Kahl of Buckman, Werner and MaryAnn of Richmond, Leander and JoAnn, and Gilbert and Joyce of Pierz, and Sister Margaret Maus, OSB, of Greenwald; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers, John of Spring Hill, Norbert of San Jose, CA; sisters, Magdalen (Gregor) Dingmann of Paynesville, and Alvina Latusky of Boulder City, Nevada.
She was preceeded in death by her parents; husband, Albert in 1989; daugther-in-law, Mary Ann (Klaphake); brothers, Alois, Michael, Leo, Martin, Joe and an infant brother, Martin.
