Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Egbert H. "Bert" Hagemeier age 86 of St. Cloud will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Bert died Wednesday, July 6th at his home. Rev. Luke Steiner O.S.B. will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud. Friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. The St. Cloud Knights of Columbus Council #961 will pray at 6:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Bert was born on June 15, 1919 in Farming, Minnesota to Eugene and Elizabeth (Rolfes) Hagemeier. He married Philomena M. "Minnie" Imdieke on Oct. 2, 1945 in St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove, MN. He has lived in St. Cloud all of his married life and worked for Granite City Electric for 39 years. Bert was an active member for over 60 years at St. Augustine's Parish and Men's Group, a 59 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the St. Cloud Knights of Columbus Council #961, Sauk Rapids Department of Emergency Services, and was a Leader in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Bert was proud of and loved his grandchildren. He also loved traveling, camping, fishing, and hunting.
Bert is survived by his children, Ken of St. Cloud and his children: Cara and Scott,; Jerry and his wife Sharon of St. Cloud and their children: Broden, Derek, and Nathan; Al and his wife Brenda of Fargo, ND and their children: Andy and Kyle; brother, Gilbert and his wife Margaret of Farming; and sister, Sally Linn of Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Philomena "Minnie" Hagemeier on December 17, 2004; and brothers, Leander, Urban, and Michael. Memorials are preferred to the Poor Clares Monastery in Sauk Rapids.
